Amy Winehouse is reportedly set to start her own record label.

The troubled singer – who was recently revealed to have amassed a £10 million fortune – has threatened to quit Island Records after releasing her next album after discussing her options with new love interest Alex Haines.

A source told Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “For the first time in her career Amy is beginning to have her head turned by the cash she can make. It's never been a huge deal in the past but she is beginning to realise everyone else is making money out of her success.

“Her deal with Island ends after her next record. That's why they are trying to get her to clean up first and make sure it's a classic.” It was recently reported Amy had been ordered by her record company to behave if she wants to release another album with them.

Bosses are said to have grown increasingly tired of Amy's behaviour, which recently saw her cautioned by police after assaulting two men during a wild night out.

A source close to Amy - who was ordered into rehab earlier this year by the label's European chief Lucian Grainge after he saw footage of her smoking what appeared to be crack cocaine - said: "Amy has been reminded of her responsibilities.

Unless she is clean she will not be allowed to release another album. "She took notice when Lucian talked to her earlier this year and agreed to go to rehab. But she didn't take it seriously enough.”
