Sensation has teamed up with Samsung Mobile to offer budding dj-talent the break they have been waiting for: to show the right people in the industry what they’re made of, play in front of thousands at a Sensation event, and ultimately win a dj booking contract.
Everybody in the dance industry knows there must be a lot of promising dj-producers out there, waiting to give up their day jobs. But they aren’t easy to find. There are a gazillion dj’s that think they’re overwhelmingly fantastic but in reality, they are just about alright.
And just alright, that is not what Sensation and Samsung Mobile are looking for. They know that there is at least one brilliant dj out there that yet has to be discovered. Therefore a jury, consisting of serious professionals, will be looking for a sound that blows their socks off. A dj that will hold his own in front of an audience of thousands of die-hard dance lovers. A personality that won’t disappear in a line up with names like David Guetta or Felix Da Housecat, to name just a few.
Just spinning the decks and get those hands in the air won’t be enough. The jury needs to be astounded by the music they hear and the level of technical skill. They want to find a sound that is fresh and original and that will be around for the next decade.
If you’re still reading, you might be exactly the person they are looking for. But be warned, there will be a strong competition. First you will register by uploading your own track. If you are selected, there is the chance you will play at a Sensation show in your own country. Then, the most promising dj gets the opportunity to turn the tables in a primetime slot at the brand new show in Amsterdam in 2009 – the largest and most impressive on the Sensation calendar. And finally, to really give up that day job, that same winner will also get a contract with the Dutch dj booking agency ‘Agent Audio’.
