KEANE have said they were only joking about comments they made about Blur recently.

Frontman Tom Chaplin told the T In The Park audience, "who the f**king hell are Blur?" when they performed to small audience after their schedule clashed with the reformed Britpop group.

But he said he had no intention of starting a feud with them.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "You would never ever hear us say a bad word about Blur. I mean I went to see Blur so many times before they split up. They've been a major influence on us as a band and I'm totally in love with them.

"So no, I don't want to create some kind of feud with Blur. As I've always said, we're not a band who slags other bands off - I'd rather celebrate the good things about music."

Chaplin also claimed that he was a Blur fan during "battle of the bands" with Oasis.

He added: "I think, overall, given the body of work I would say I'm more of a Blur fan than an Oasis fan.

"I know that there is an idea that somehow we've got this thing or this weird war of words going on with Oasis which isn't true."
