Genre-defying Clean Bandit remain at #1 in the UK’s Official Singles Chart for the fifth consecutive week with “Rockabye”, which features vocals from BRITs Critics’ Choice finalist Anne-Marie, and Sean Paul! Clean Bandit – Grace Chatto, Jack Patterson and Luke Patterson – have officially gone Gold with their new single, selling over 410,000 copies of Rockabye in the UK alone.
This fifth week at number 1 in the UK charts sees the band surpass their own personal best of four weeks at number 1, with Rather Be in 2014, plus last week they officially broke the record for having the longest-running consecutive reign at #1 in the UK charts for a British artist this year. Moreover, they are one of only two UK acts to land two Top 5 singles this year (the other being Calvin Harris).
This summer, Clean Bandit unleashed their huge, Platinum-certified comeback single “Tears” featuring X Factor 2015 winner, Louisa Johnson. Storming the global Spotify charts and playlists alike, the track has received over 76 million streams to date, climbed to #1 on UK radio airplay having been playlisted across the board at UK radio (Radio 1/Capital/1Xtra/Kiss/Kiss Fresh), and remains in the Top 5 biggest-selling UK singles of 2016! Upon release, “Tears” shot to #1 on Shazam’s ‘Future Hits’ chart and their self-produced official video has now accumulated over 80 MILLION YouTube views.
Clean Bandit, who released their debut album New Eyes in 2014, have sold over 14 million singles and 1.6 million albums worldwide, won a Grammy for ‘Best Dance Recording’ with “Rather Be” feat. Jess Glynne, have been nominated for 2 x BRIT/Billboard Music Awards and 1 x BBC Music Award, featured on the Band Aid 30 single, performed alongside the Philharmonic Orchestra for BBC Radio 1, sold out London’s Alexandra Palace and additionally, the band’s Jack Patterson is 2 x Ivor Novello-winning.
The band are currently in the studio recording their second studio album, set for a 2017 release.
