A woman publicly accusing Usher of potentially exposing her to herpes during a hotel hook-up has been backed by an alleged witness.

Quantasia Sharpton, 21, appeared at a news conference with celebrity lawyer Lisa Bloom on Monday (07Aug17) and claimed she had hooked up with the Pop Ya Collar singer at a hotel after she was allowed backstage at his gig in November 2014.

The attorney has filed lawsuits on behalf of Sharpton, another woman and a man, claiming to have had sexual contact with the singer, and he was already facing a $40 million (£30.6 milllion) lawsuit from an unnamed woman who alleges he infected her with genital herpes.

Sharpton does not have the sexually transmitted disease but is suing the singer as she may have been placed at risk of contracting it.

An individual claiming to be a former employee of the Days Inn in Atlantic City, New Jersey told TMZ.com that they saw Sharpton greet Usher at the hotel before they retired to her room.

Sources close to Sharpton confirmed to the gossip website that she did stay at the Days Inn after the R&B star's concert at Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall venue.

TMZ editors also obtained a photograph of Sharpton hugging Usher's support act at the gig, August Alsina. In the picture she is wearing a birthday tiara, an item she claimed to be wearing at the concert as she was celebrating her 19th birthday.

Sharpton alleges one of Usher's team took her phone number, and they later arranged to meet at her hotel and had sexual relations, but that he never mentioned if he had herpes.

The musician's original accuser, who is not represented by Bloom, is seeking $20 million (£15.3 million) in punitive damages, and wants another $20 million for emotional harm and medical bills.

Usher, 38, who has been married to his manager Grace Miguel since 2015, has yet to publicly address the allegations, although sources close to his camp have told TMZ they do not believe he had sex with Sharpton.
