James McCartney, only son of Paul McCartney, has decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and has recorded his debut EP.

The release will be called ‘Available Light’ and will hit stores on the 21st of September.

It was produced by David Kahne (Tony Bennett, The Strokes) and Paul McCartney.

The younger McCartney has taken a very commercial rock approach to pop music and is the kind of thing that FM radio loves.

The lead single is the track ‘Angel’, and the EP also features a cover of Neil Young’s ‘Old Man’ in which his father’s renowned instrumentation shows itself to be hereditary.

‘Available Light’ will be available digitally through Engine Company Records on September 21.
