Kele Okereke has revealed that Bloc Party are working on demos for their fourth album in the Big Apple.

The frontman for the band told Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 that the band, who have been on hiatus since 2009, are back in the game.

He said, “It’s nice to feel that the music we’re making is the sound of all us in a room together again because we haven’t done that for a while.

”We can do whatever we want now and people will come to it on its own terms. I’m excited about the idea of making rock music again.”

During the hiatus, Okereke released his solo album The Boxer, guitarist Russell Lissack toured with Ash, and bassist/synth player Gordon Moakes formed a new band Young Legionnaire.

Bloc Party will reportedly release their first album since 2008’s Intimacy later this year.
