There will be no 50th anniversary tour in 2012 for the Rolling Stones. That's the word from both Mick Jagger and Keith Richards who say the band isn't ready to hit the road.

Never fear, though. Their are near definite plans to tour in 2013. Richards told Rolling Stone magazine that "We look upon 2012 as sort of the year of conception, but the birth is next year. The Stones always really considered '63 to be 50 years, because Charlie [drummer Charlie Watts] didn't actually join until January."

It also appears that the logistics of organizing a tour may be too lengthy a process to get a tour in this year. A source told the magazine that proposals have been received by such industry heavyweights as Live Nation and AEG.

There is also concerns among people in the industry that Richards may not be able to weather a full tour with the group, instead opting for residencies in a few major cities. A source told Rolling Stone "For example, they'd do 10 nights at MSG, 10 nights at Staples, 10 nights at London's O2 arena..."
