Global Citizen and CHIME FOR CHANGE today announce the launch of a new campaign - #SheWill - to help break down the barriers currently preventing 63 million girls across the world from going to, and staying in, school. The campaign calls on the public to take action to drive commitments by world leaders to further girls’ education.

Supporters of the #SheWill campaign will have the chance to earn tickets to Live at the View from The Shard on Thursday 7th July - an intimate music event to honour and support global efforts to make every girl’s right to learn a reality. The campaign is hosted on the Global Citizen platform - www.globalcitizen.org/shewill - where the public can take action and enter to win tickets to this exclusive event.

Headlined by British sensation Tom Odell, this will be a night of intimate music and inspiring speeches from the rooftop of one of London’s most iconic buildings on the open-air Skydeck on Level 72 of the viewing gallery. This is the first Global Citizen + CHIME FOR CHANGE event hosted in the UK, and the first time an artist of Odell’s calibre will perform in this space.

Tom Odell “If a girl goes to school, #SheWill have control of her future. I'm honoured and excited to be performing Live at the View from The Shard on July 7 with Global Citizen and CHIME FOR CHANGE - a unique way of using the power of music for a great cause. The only way to get tickets is by raising your voice to ensure every girl - no matter where she lives - can access an education"

This unique music event will follow the Girls Education Forum hosted earlier that day by International Development Secretary Justine Greening and Global Citizen + CHIME FOR

CHANGE. The Girls Education Forum will convene governments, businesses and world leaders to agree to a concrete action plan that will ensure no girl is left behind, and that girls not only just go to school, but also that they stay in school and get a quality education.

International Development Secretary Justine Greening said: “Girls who have been denied an education face a lifetime of lower wages and reduced opportunity. The UK is helping 6.5 million girls get a decent education over the next four years, but we need others to step up. That’s why I am proud to be hosting the Girls Education Forum, which will bring together governments, businesses and aid agencies not just to help girls get into school, but to give these girls a complete and decent education that can give them the skills they need to live happy, productive lives.”

Amy Agnew, Europe Director at Global Citizen “We are at a crossroads in the global story of girls’ education. Right now, we have a huge opportunity to help shape the decisions of leaders that will impact on the lives of millions of girls, giving them the chance to determine their own future. But this will only be possible if thousands of global citizens join in, speak out and take action. We are extremely excited to announce today that some of these global citizens will win the chance to see Tom Odell at Global Citizen and CHIME FOR CHANGE, Live at The View from The Shard, which promises to be an unforgettable evening.”
