There is always a place in my soul for a band who can combine the audacious power of Aerosmith and the bratty roar of Guns ‘n Roses and when you can throw a vocalist like Sky Hunter you definitely have my attention.

The band have some great chops and they pour on the heat from the opening bass line of ‘Walk The Line’ building through stages to the explosion as Ms Hunter tears in over the Lizzy-like guitar lines and riff heavy opening stance.
Gaz Annable delivers some superb guitar lines over Rob Glasnor & Steve Briggs drums and bass but it really takes the band working together to make this work and work it most definitely does.

The band have been the rounds, opening for the likes of Michael Schencker as well as Never the Bride and Voodoo Six and Alice Cooper’s guitarist Pete Friesen adds guitar lines on many tracks after Voodoo Six bassist Tony Newton brought him in while he mixed the album.

Just about all the tracks have identity and there doesn’t feel like any filler on the album but tracks like ‘Favourite Bitch’ - due out as a single - and the title track really show just what the band are capable of.

My guess would be that over the next year or two Stonewire are going to be headlining and consolidating the promise they show here but where they are at is just fine with me – a stunning debut.
