A 10 piece all-singing, none-dancing shanty band, with a repertoire of original, traditional and bastardised old sea songs and dirty folk. CSB have earned their reputation as a hard-drinking noise unit who like to get the crowd on stage and ruffle a few feathers.
London’s most innovative folk club started a new season of Shanty Sessions, exploring our rich maritime history through music, song and dance on the decks of Cutty Sark.
The evening featured some of the most exciting nautically minded folk bands in the UK inc Lisa Knapp, Norfolk Broads, Matthew Crampton & The London Lubbers, City Shanty Band, Emily Mae Winters and culminated in a ceilidh with the Ceilidh Liberation Front!
This event programme was part of a wider series of events & festivals at Royal Museums Greenwich, celebrating the folklore and traditions of our maritime heritage.
