ARCAVES are an alternative pop band from Southend, Essex, UK. In the back of a broken- down car in a pine forest in Sweden 2014, ARCAVES were formed. After selling their car to pay for flights back to the UK, the band locked themselves away in a Southend studio to craft their unique take on pop.

They emerged in 2015 to win Essex Undiscovered and supported Nothing but Thieves and Coasts; culminating in opening the Sure Arena at V Festival 2015.

In early 2016 ARCAVES took part in the PAIX project to record their cover version of Eagles of Death Metal’s ‘I Love You All The Time’ for the victims of the terrorist attack in Paris. As a result, ARCAVES appeared on ITV News.

EODM also included their track alongside the likes of Kings of Leon and Elton John.

ARCAVES influences include musicians such as London Grammar, Jamie Woon, Chet Faker and The XX.
Releases to date - “Dancing in The Moonlight (Say My Name)”, “Frozen Water” - which was picked up by the BBC for the 2016 World Triathlon television coverage; “Man Enough” – released in 2016 with its world exclusive premiering through CLASH Magazine. In the UK, Europe and Australia the video was commissioned for retail networks including Footlocker, Virgin, Topshop, McDonalds, Pure Gyms and over 50 Student Unions.

ARCAVES are currently working with Quintin Christian (Rudimental) to develop their sound and push the boundaries of technology to make for an unforgettable live experience.

BBC Introducing Essex announced ARCAVES as one the artists for “Sound of 2017” with Ollie WB championing the band from the very beginning with a showcase in February. ARCAVES are curating the first Oxjam Southend festival and this summer ARCAVES headlined the London Bridge Summer City Festival on the bank of the Thames.

May 2017 saw the release of ARCAVES’ fifth single “Familiar Stranger” with the video premiering on Spindle Magazine and live sessions on BBC Introducing, FUBAR Radio with Harriet Rose and culminated in a sold out single launch show presented by Camden Rocks at The Crowndale.

Familiar Stranger was both Record of the Day and Record of the Week with ARCAVES performing an acoustic session which was live streamed across The Independent’s social media channels at The Great Escape 2017.
