Any new release from Wille & The Bandits is something to be cherished and this single, a taster for their new album ‘Paths’, is no exception.
The three piece from Cornwall have created a huge sound that explodes from the speakers with Wille Edwards guitar wailing with energy alongside his impassioned vocals. Matt Brooks sinuous bass lines and Andrew Naumann’s pneumatic drums complete the aural assault – this is truly one that will pin you against the back wall. And yet, when the pace drops in the middle part, the quality of the playing drips with beauty and the subtlety of all three musicians playing is exposed.
The song is a protest song with all that that suggests but it has a message of positivity in the lyrics “I want to give life, I want to testify”
A great band and on top form too.
