Support band Threatmantics deserve a mention for the interesting slice of music that they perform. Excellently different they may never attract the massive audiences as they are too off centre, but for the music lover out there after something other than Radio 1 then check them out.

Clinic themselves took to the stage to the tune of 'You’ll Never Walk Alone’. Their attire of Hawaiian style shirts and medical masks didn’t distort the clear Liverpudlian presence. The opening tune is Beatlesque, but with a tad more beat. From then on the Clinic sound comes forward leaving behind any reference to former Liverpool mega bands. The drummer drives through the songs as the 5 piece bash their latest offering out to the massed crowd. Their set of two halves leads with the new material which is well received, but part two and the known releases are more faithfully supported. Clinic do alternative very well and for this they are worth a pat on the back, but I left the gig talking about Threatmantics.
