10,000 Maniacs cancel US tour

10,000 Maniacs have been forced to cancel their US tour because guitarist Jeff Erickson is in need of urgent back surgery.

The tour was due to begin in Miami last Saturday and continue through Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, Connecticut and New York.

10,000 Maniacs are hoping to reschedule the show later in the year.

The tour also affects Pegi Young who was to showcase her latest album ‘Bracing For Impact’ on the tour.

The current line-up of 10,000 Maniacs features Mary Ramsey on lead vocals. Mary joined 10,000 Maniacs in 1993, replacing Natalie Merchant who left to go solo.
