Noel Gallagher will put down his guitar to lead a panel of music industry insiders at a special one-off XFM event at the Hammersmith Club in London on Monday 3 November to raise money for Global’s Make Some Noise.

Global’s Make Some Noise is a new national charity. For the first time, Global is uniting all its brands, Capital, Capital XTRA, Heart, Classic FM, LBC, Smooth, XFM and Gold, behind one cause, to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people.

A group of prominent music industry figures including Nicky Wire of the Manic Street Preachers, former Creation Records boss Alan McGee, and Shortlist magazine’s deputy editor Hamish McBain, will delve into Noel’s life in music with a 90-minute discussion and question and answers session in front of an intimate audience of just 120 people. The evening will give an insight into Noel’s time in Oasis, the 90s explosion of guitar bands, and his current success with band High Flying Birds.

Noel Gallagher said: “Having rarely stopped blowing my own trumpet since April '94, it'll come as no surprise I jumped at the chance to let the people catch me at it again, so to speak, while at the same time raising a few bob for the kids. It'll be a pleasure.”

Chris Baughen, XFM’s managing editor, said: “We all know how great Noel's music is but I think we sometimes forget just how much he's packed into the past 20 years, and the impact he's had on a generation. This unique night will allow us to hear some of the stories behind one of the biggest bands, and one of the greatest songwriters in the world.”

Tickets will cost from £40 - £100, available from www.xfm.co.uk from 8am on Wednesday (1 October). All proceeds from the evening will go to Global’s Make Some Noise.

Join the fundraising appeal on Thursday 9 October 2014 and find out more by tuning in to XFM, following us on Twitter @makenoise, or at www.makesomenoise.com.
