Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family and friends have attended her wake.

The daughter of Bobby Brown and late singer Whitney Houston died at the age of 22 last weekend after spending nearly six months in a coma.

And ET Online reports loved ones viewed Bobbi Kristina’s body Friday night at the Murray Brothers Funeral Home in Atlanta.

According to Radar Online the wake had an air of extreme grief. It’s claimed the viewing service lasted just over 30 minutes before guests started leaving around 6:40pm. A bouquet of red roses, which was said to have been Bobbi Kristina’s favourite type of flower, was brought to the funeral home. The very sight of these florals may have sparked all types of tears in memory of her.

Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother Cissy Houston flew in from New Jersey for the wake, which was unexpected as the 81-year-old soul singer is frail and dealing with health issues.

The wake was a particularly important occasion because it’s claimed the invites to Bobbi Kristina’s actual funeral were limited to just a few close friends and family members.

Some of her loved ones purportedly had to attend the viewing Friday night in order to have a chance to see her before she is buried.

“They came to pay final respects to Bobbi Kristina before tomorrow’s funeral,” an eyewitness explained to Radar.

Bobbi Kristina’s funeral will take place at the St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia, which is about an hour outside of Atlanta. The ceremony will commence at 11am EST and speculation is rife that after the funeral, she will be buried near her mother Whitney in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers and cards the family of Bobbi Kristina have asked mourners to donate funds to The Marion P. Foundation, a charity organisation centred on helping youths build strong and positive relationships with others.
