Charmayne Maxwell, one of the three members of the 90's R&B group Brownstone, has died from an apparent accident in her home.

While details are still emerging, the Dutch site Her & Nu broke the news saying that Maxwell had fallen at a Saturday soccer game she attended for her son Nicholas. She was married to Dutch producer Carsten "Soulshock" Maxee.

TMZ has reported that Maxwell came home after the game with her son. Her husband returned home around 9 PM and found his wife unresponsive and bleeding profusely from the neck; however, she still had a pulse. Paramedics were called and took the singer to Cedars Sinai Hospital where they were not able to save her due to severe loss of blood.

The site also says that, even though the Dutch site reported a fall at the game, the LAPD reports that the cut was from a broken wine glass. They do not suspect foul play.

Brownstone was formed in Los Angeles in 1993 with Monica "Mimi" Doby, Nichole "Nicci" Gilbert and Maxwell, also known as "Maxee". They signed to Michael Jackson's MJJ label the next year and released their first single, Pass the Lovin' (1994 / #58 R&B / #42 Dance). Their next single, If You Love Me, became their biggest success, going to number 8 on the Hot 100 and 2 on the R&B Singles chart. They later had two additional R&B hits, Grapevyne (1995 / #49 Pop / #6 R&B) and 5 Miles to Empty (1997 / #39 Pop / #6 R&B).

The band recorded their second and last album, Still Climbing, in 1997.
