Nick Cannon is glad his children get to show off their “individuality” in his new home.

The actor and TV host has three-year-old fraternal twins Moroccan and Monroe with estranged wife Mariah Carey. The 34-year-old confirmed he had separated from the singer in August last year after six years of marriage and filed divorce papers in December. But despite such a big change in the family dynamic, Nick believes his offspring are handling it well, and are enjoying putting their stamp on his new bachelor pad.

“I’m having a lot of fun,” he told Extra. “I got a cool situation where my house, they have their own rooms, they’re picking out their stuff… they have all this individuality and they have their own space.”

Nick added his son and daughter both like to do different things when they spend time together. But the star noted that he’s happy for them to follow their instincts and not swamp them with affection when he has them stay over.

“My daughter wants to go to her room and read books by herself,” he revealed. “It’s like, okay, that’s impressive. I’ll let you have some quiet time.”

While Nick is adjusting to life as a single man and balancing his daddy responsibilities, it was previously reported that his 44-year-old ex is still pining for her estranged husband. The We Belong Together star is even alleged to have spent $25,000 on a shopping spree which included gifts for Nick.

“She's hoping it would win him back," an insider told Life & Style in January. "She's extremely lonely. She wants things to go back to how they used to be."
