Dolly Parton's drunk friends have "slaughtered" her songs on many occasions.
The 68-year-old country musician has a vast back catalogue, with many of her songs - such as Jolene and I Will Always Love You - covered by other artists. They are also karaoke favourites, but not everyone can sing as well as the pint-sized performer.
"People like to get in there and sing it. But yeah, I have seen my songs slaughtered pretty good, by some of my drunk friends. Hahaha. But it's always fun. It's always good," she laughed to British newspaper The Guardian.
Many of Dolly's songs are positive and her lyrics tend to be kind. She insists she isn't always so jolly though, with things angering her just as they do anyone. However, she doesn't focus so much on the negative and believes that helps her as a lyricist.
"Oh, of course everybody has their dark side. I'm just a regular person. Same things make me mad as make everybody else mad, or get under their skin," she said. "I'm a person with a lot of emotion. I'm a songwriter. I have to live with my feelings on my sleeve. I've often said, I'm just one of those people: if I don't like where you've got it, I can certainly tell you where to put it."
Among the things which anger the blonde star are people who are rude to each other and those who lie and "trick you", rather than making good on their promises. Dolly doesn't dwell on those aspects of humankind though, instead she likes to see the good in people always looks to make things better if she sees something which isn't right.
The star has achieved much throughout her career, including headlining the Glastonbury music festival in the UK earlier this year. She also has a theme park and has released 110 singles, but that doesn't mean she's out of dreams. At the moment she's working towards a film and musical based on her life, with the star determined to secure the perfect stars to portray her.
"I think they would have to have the right personality. I think they would have to have some big boobs," the curvaceous star laughed. "I think somebody like Scarlett Johansson, somebody like that as an actress for the film, whereas a Kristin Chenoweth would be great for stage, because she's little and has that great voice. At one time, back when I had started working on this film several years ago, I had thought about Scarlett Johansson. They're all bigger than me, of course, but that doesn't matter."
