Jenny McCarthy’s son “feels safe” with Donnie Wahlberg.
The former Playboy model tied the knot with the Blue Bloods actor in a ceremony near her hometown of Chicago, Illinois on August 31. Jenny was walked down the aisle by her 12-year-old son Evan.
“I feel like the major thing that has changed is watching my son for the first time look like he feels safe,” Jenny told Perez Hilton in an interview. “It’s just been me and him for so long as a single mom and…Donnie walks in the door and Evan screams his name and runs down the spiral staircase and jumps in his arms and says, ‘I’m so happy you're home, Donnie.’”
Evan gave a “spontaneous toast” at the newlywed’s reception, the new bride previously told People magazine. He apparently told guests at the wedding he, his mother and his stepfather are “going to make a great family”.
Evan wasn't the only special guest at the wedding. However, while all the members of the groom’s former band, New Kids on the Block, were in attendance, they apparently didn’t perform together.
“We didn’t do any of their songs,” Jenny told Perez Hilton. “I thought maybe Donnie would break into Cover Girl or something, but no.”
The absence of New Kids on the Block music wasn’t the only surprise for the bride. Apparently, Jenny slimmed down for the big day, so much that her gown was too big and kept slipping down.
"I was grateful it wasn't the reverse — that I wasn’t falling out of my dress because I couldn't zip it up,” she told Perez Hilton.
News Jenny and Donnie had wed first made headlines after Donnie’s brother Mark congratulated the couple on Twitter.
“Congratulations @DonnieWahlberg and @JennyMcCarthy, so happy for you both today,” he wrote.
