Producer and songwriter John Carter Cash was arrested on Monday at a Deer Lake, Newfoundland airport after stripping down to his underwear.

According to authorities, they received a report of a man at the airport who was either drunk or having a medical issues. When they responded, they found Cash clothed after airport security had talked him into getting dressed. The security people also said that they believed that Cash was drunk.

Police made the decision to not file formal charges after Cash was cooperative in the investigation and had no previous criminal record. It does appear, though, the he was detained until sober and will be released to book a new flight home. He had been in Newfoundland on a hunting trip.

Cash is the only child of Johnny Cash and June Carter but has six step-sisters through the marriage of his parents, Roseanne Cash, Carlene Carter, Rosie Nix Adams, Kathy Cash, Cindy Cash and Tara Cash.

As a producer, Cash has helmed his mother's albums Press On (1999) and Wildwood Flower (2003), Marty Stewart's Badlands (2005) along with music for artists as diverse as George Jones, Mavis Staples, Sheryl Crow and Elvis Costello.

As a writer, he has published three children's books and a biography of his mother, Anchored in Love.
