John Legend admits touring is completely different when you're a married man.
The American hit maker tied the knot with model Chrissy Teigen in 2013, after being together for six years.
He broke on to the music scene in 2004 so didn't enjoy too much time on the road as a bachelor, but admits the atmosphere on tour is much more chilled when you're happily married.
"Well, once you're off the market, touring is different," John laughed to Details magazine. "I've been off the market since before I got married but the early part of touring was going out, chasing girls, doing all of that, but once you retire from that game, it's much more mellow. It's more relaxing. I get more rest. It's just more calm and I'm more focused on being a good artist."
Last year John celebrated the tenth anniversary of his debut album Get Lifted, which made the top ten in charts all around the world.
While he hasn't released a record since 2013's Love in the Future, he has been busy with other musical projects. He partnered with rapper Common on track Glory, which features in Martin Luther King Jr., film Selma.
"I didn't feel pressure in the negative sense, I felt like this is a great opportunity to be part of an amazing film, about an amazing subject that has been an inspiration to so many people for so long," he explained of the song.
Glory scooped best original song at the Golden Globes, and is also up for an Oscar. Recalling how he got involved with the track, John reveals he had no hesitation in saying yes.
"I had heard about the film for a while and then Common called me. He's in the film and had been speaking to Ava DuVernay, the director, about making a song for the film. He said, 'I'd love for you to do it with me. If you have any ideas for a good chorus, a good musical bed, I'd love for you to create something for me and then I'll rap the raps.' So, that's what happened," he said.
