Justin Bieber's cameo on The Simpsons has been revealed.

The Canadian superstar took to his Twitter page to share his excitement about the esteemed animation project with fans.

“just did a voice over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy (sic)," he tweeted, although the post has since been deleted.

However, The Simpsons executive producer Al Jean has confirmed Justin's role in an upcoming episode of the popular Fox sitcom.

“He tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing piano in and they won’t admit him,” Jean explained, quipping: “Draw your own conclusions.

“It’s a cameo, but all of his fans should watch every minute of the show, before and after he’s on.”

Justin will play himself in the cameo.

The episode is titled The Fabulous Faker Boy and is due to air next year as part of the long-standing show's 24th season.

Justin is one of many famous faces to appear in The Simpsons recently. Other high profile guest spots include Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, Edward Norton and Steve Carell.
