Your favourite international singer and song?:
Music is big and in my opinion each and every song pertaining to any artist conveys a deep feeling and story only the artist shall know. Outwardly, words could not be the key in every situation in life to expressing in every day life and a song could be the saviour. Having said this, keeping same meaningful theory in mind, along the days I have learnt to appreciate each and every melody, lyrics, music, song and interpretation which makes up a fundamental part of an artist/performer. I do have my own personal tastes like everyone else and I would go for the Italian Musical Industry having been such an inspiration to my foundation in building my musical career. ZUCCHERO-MENTA E ROSMARINO; such a deep artist portraying beautiful emotions in every word he sings and he does sing! ROBBIE WILLIAMS on the other hand being a one true artist who inspiores me through every hardship in life negatively effecting me in my so-called music-life. He kept on moving forward irrelevant of all the difficulties and anxieties he had sought through his climb!! And yes, SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL is the song describing me the most and I listen to it almost every single morning just as I wake up to start my day!!!
Your favourite local singer and song?
Malta is such a treasure island situated in a massive sea and the talent having arisen along the years here by is such an awesome thing! A lot of Maltese artists have kept me strong in my will to doing what I always loved doing the most, most especially 'WINTERMOODS', having been a contemporarily popular Band in Malta pertaining to a touch of rock, the genre I have never thought of doing in my whole life, but here I am being the vocalist of an upcoming Rock band very soon! 'MARIGOLD' is the perfect song to a perfect inspirational Romance and I must say I dearly love it.... 'Take my hand, don't be sad...you're so fine you're beautiful!', AMAZING, IVAN!
How long have you been involved in music?:
I see Music in my life as NEED , apart from some great thing which I cannot live without and want! I laugh, cry, love, share memories and do anything any other person does in his/her life, through Music. I have always shared the extreme passion to singing and performing to the people in order to transmit the same emotions a song might convey to me ever since I can recall but I never seemed to find the courage to take it this seriously like recent days. I have been producing, performing and participating in Local Festivals such as BeerFest, Wine Fest, Beland Fest and also upcoming Indifest for only a year now. I find my self to be very keen about upcoming events related.
What are your goals in music ? :
As has been self already self portrayed, my aim is to connect with the people through Music. Music is such a rich element devoured in our world. It gathers people, brings about peace, makes people smile and enjoy the world heavily!!! Being a very emotional person, Music shall be the key to my reaching some people I might have never had the guts to reply to, express myself to, especially to people I love and cannot spend a day without thinking of and I am working on it!! I also aim to reach the Maltese Radio Stations with the recent songs I have been working on together with the members of the Band RADIO ACTIVE. Some material has already been launched during presences in annual Maltese Band pertaining Festivals such as the Beland Festival and Delicata Wine Fest, apart from other gigs held in Pubs around Malta. The members I work with everyday forming the band have become my routine, another Family sought through the passion of Music and I am more than willing to reach some great criteria's concerning my band! EUROVISION! Come on, it is practically one of the greatest dreams alive in the heart of almost every Maltese artist, not to say every artist's dream! It is one of my greatest ambitions to realising through Music and I will work hard!! Already having submitted a song 'THE END' to the music of Minik (Dominic Cini) and lyrics of Rita Pace, during last year's submission phase, having failed to make it through.. Definitely it was not THE END! 'AMICI DI MARIA DE FILIPPI'.... Such a young dream having grown up with me.. Having passed on to the second audition coming up on the 28th of coming August, I will do my best into proceeding this dream-adventure.. Working and performing with such great talented Italian artists would be the one of the shot off tips to my career involving Music! Sure....Well, will see!
Do you have a standard routine before performing?:
No, not at all. Prior to my stressful daily job, I just have to perform whenever it comes and however it takes. I would just love to have a fifteen minute siesta-not sleeping before I take a shower and get pampered, do my warming vocal excersises etc....To date, I don't take MUSIC as my full time job but I have to admit I work for music. Music is such an expensive thing, let's admit it and without having had my job I would not have had the money to pay for songs and other stuff.
Name another Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza Finalist you admire?:
I am sorry I will have to mention 3! Having said this, this is not a biased answer, in fact I have never even spoken to one of these three artists I am about to mention. These three artists are surely great performers we are already and will be proud of in the upcoming years! I love their singing, their passion and their strong vocals and anything which revolves around their artism! Michela Galea and Neville Refalo and Domenique Azzopardi. I am so looking forward to get to know these 2 artists very closely in the upcoming days!!! As I said, I love collaborations.
What’s your opinion regarding the music industry in Malta? :
I will answer this simply.... I would suggest more meritocracy when it comes to choice of songs, providing of song resources. This must have said it all. Nonetheless, it always magnificent!
Do you believe in collaborations? Who would you duet with?
A duet harmony is always challenging. I never thought collaborating with an other female/male artist would be such an interesting thing though!! As I always insist, the world of Music is such a gigantic thing, you always learn everyday. You can never be the greatest.. You shall only be greater.. but never the best! There is nothing having to do with being best and managing to work with another artist, surely leads to greater results. Learning from another artist, her/his tactics, musical ethics, way of working with music, dealing with musical stressors and daily routine pertaining to strict musical based doings...This is why I really believe in collaborations! I would really love to duet with a number of Maltese female artists of course, one of which will be and REALLY will be very soon the Queen AMBER. Yes, she is a queen to me. The way she starts her performances with that so called anxious smile, due to the strong want to win the stage, ultimately leading to a fruitful performance every time she hits the stage, is simply grand! Her vocally spectacular timber and expressing manners are unmissable ! So proud to announce Amber will be working closely with me and the rest of the members of my band very soon this upcoming Summer as for two very popular Festivals!!!
How would you celebrate if you win Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2014?:
I would be the happiest man on earth. I really believe in the power of Maltese songs even though they are not so valorised as should! In fact I aim to practise song-writing myself in the upcoming days. It is such a great thing in my opinion and requires some interesting thinking! KONKORS KANZUNETTA INDIPENDENZA will surely be my strong debut as a male vocalist here in my country and anyway the thing goes I will still maintain wings. May the best song and performing artist win, irrelevant of many issues which are considered as a drawback. Preparations are full ahead under way with me and my dedicative team. We will do the best and God will surely do the rest!!!! That is my motto in everything I do, but yes... it's vague hiding it! I would be really happy to win this year's edition !!!!

My message will go to all the Music followers who might love Music, need Music and want to make their Musical foundations maintaining strong.. JUST GO FOR IT! Never lose faith in what you believe in and keep fighting for what you believe you deserve. MUSIC is magic and everyone deserves a touch of magic in their life!
