Leona Lewis would “love” to star in a musical movie like Chicago.
The British singer admits she has turned down several opportunities to appear in a film. Leona has never been offered the right role and is holding out for the chance to show off her singing and dancing skills.
"Cameos and things like that, it has to be the right thing and come at the right time,” she is quoted as saying by BBC Newsbeat. "I haven't had time to delve into that. If I did I would want to do it properly.
"I'd love to do a film like Chicago. Something musical because I've obviously come from that background."
Leona performed live during the final of UK talent show The X Factor last weekend. She shocked many of her fans by delivering a rendition of the Nine Inch Nails’ song Hurt.
The star has previously recorded cover versions of hits by Oasis and Snow Patrol and has explained her decision to release Hurt.
"People write music and the music is out there for people to interpret it how they want to. As long as it's coming from a genuine place,” she added.
"I actually am a big fan of that song and a big fan of the Johnny Cash cover.
"That song in particular really speaks to me. Lyrically it's a song that is very intense and has painful lyrics.
"It's reflective of a place where I was at. When I recorded it, it was healing to get it out."
Leona is slated to release her third studio album, Glassheart, next year.
