Jenny McCarthy’s is incorporating Thanksgiving into her honeymoon.
The American model and TV presenter married New Kids on the Block singer Donnie Wahlberg in September. But the couple have only just found the time to go on their honeymoon, and plan on incorporating Turkey Day into the proceedings.
“A honeymoon in Hawaii where we’ll eat our favorite foods,” the 42-year-old told Life & Style when asked about their plans for the holiday. “I’m setting up a candlelight turkey dinner on the beach.”
The blonde beauty met the Step By Step star on the set of her now cancelled chat show in March 2013 and they began dating that summer. They announced their engagement in April this year and tied the knot at an intimate ceremony in Illinois early September.
“She could not stop talking about how over the moon she was with her wedding and her life as a married woman," an insider told People soon after the nuptials. "She talked about how the reception wasn't too over-the-top."
While Jenny, who has a son Evan with ex-husband John Mallory Asher, is devoted to her new spouse, she hasn’t forgotten her extended family on the special American holiday. She took to Twitter to share a clip of her performing a song with her mother, Linda.
“A turkey song from the best mom in the world. My mom! Happy Thanksgiving!” she wrote.
It’s not clear whether her 12-year-old, who has autism, has joined her on honeymoon but Jenny recently spoke about how happy Evan is in Donnie’s company.
““I feel like the major thing that has changed is watching my son for the first time look like he feels safe,” Jenny told Perez Hilton in an interview. “It’s just been me and him for so long as a single mom and…Donnie walks in the door and Evan screams his name and runs down the spiral staircase and jumps in his arms and says, ‘I’m so happy you're home, Donnie.’”
