Lyrics & Music written by : Lyrics by George Cassar, Music by Myself - Daniel Borg

What message does your song give?
The song is actually a protest against the destruction of the Maltese environment. It tells the story of a Maltese citizen who returned back to Malta after living abroad for a couple of years. In the song we see this Maltese citizen visiting some of the natural landmarks he used to visit when he was younger, only to find out that they have been damaged and destroyed by housing developments, pollution and vandalism.

Do you like to compete in Festivals? Why/Why Not?: Altough I do not have much experience in taking part in festivals, I would say that participating in this festival has been a very positive experience. It has allowed me to meet other artists, develop my skills further and show my talent to the public. It is a very exciting experience and I would surely like to participate in other festivals in the future.

This Festival supports our native tongue. Do you prefer to sing in Maltese, English or another language? Maltese. It's our native tongue and we should be proud of it.

Which is your favourite Maltese Song of all time?: It's very difficult to choose just one song, because there are several I like. But if I had to choose one, I'd say 'Sa L-ahhar" by Fabrizio Faniello.

And your favourite International Song of all time?: Once in a Lifetime - the song that represented Estonia in Eurovision 2000.

Who inspires you as an Artist?: My friends and family, who always are there to provide support.

Would you share highlights from your music career during the last 12 months? :
In the past 12 months, I was studying for my Masters Degree in Edinburgh and thus time for my music career was limited. However whilst studying, I joined a choir and sang in several places around the city. It was a beautiful experience. Amongst the various concerts and gigs I was involved in, I also had the chance to sing during the famous Fringe Festival in Edinburgh.

What are your goals in music ? : Currently my goal is to give a good performance at the Ghanja tal-Poplu festival. Me and my team are working very hard to give a good performance on the night. This festival might also open future opportunities, who knows?

How much time per day do you spend on your music career ? : Presently, I am a secondary school Chemistry teacher and hence due to the continouous preparations, the time dedicated to my music career is limited. However, whenever there is the chance, I like animating the odd mass here and there and singing in choirs. Music is a beautiful way of expressing oneself and I can't imagine myself living without it.

If you had to choose another Artist to duet with, who would that be and why? There are several artists with whom I'd like to duet with...amongst local artists, I'd love to duet with Ira Losco, Chiara and Claudette Pace. They are all very good singers. If I were to choose an international artist, I'd say Mariah Carey, because her voice is simply amazing.

Do you have a message for the Music News Malta followers ? :
I'd say - Follow your dreams and never give up. If I gave up I would not be participating in the contest today. I still can't believe it's happening.
