Pharrell Williams has confessed he finds his wax figure “spooky”.
The 41-year-old Happy singer was honoured with a statue in his likeness at the world famous Madame Tussauds museum in New York City.
And during the unveiling ceremony on Wednesday April 1, Pharrell admitted his giant wax effigy freaked him out.
"I have to say, being here and standing anywhere near it is kind of spooky," he told ET Online.
The statue represents Pharrell during an iconic moment at the 2014 Grammy Awards, when he donned a large brown Vivienne Westwood hat. The headgear is featured in his wax representation and the real red leather Adidas jacket he wore at the affair is also part of the piece.
The humble superstar didn’t think his getup at the high-profile ceremony would be memorialised in a wax figure.
"If you go back to GRAMMY 2014 and if you asked me that day: 'You going to do Madame Tussauds?' I'd be like, 'No, of course not,'" Pharrell noted.
The artisans who created his wax figure spent four months toiling over images of the musician to ensure they captured his essence accurately.
Pharrell’s style is so well-respected, the Frontin singer has even been named CFDA's Fashion Icon of the Year 2015.
Pharrell is in pretty good company in winning the title. Last year Rihanna picked up the award, while other past winners include Johnny Depp, Iman and Lady Gaga.
This year's selection was a no-brainer for CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg.
“If cool was a person, it would be Pharrell, not just for his looks and sense of style but for his kindness and openness,” she gushed to WWD. “I cannot imagine anyone not seduced by him.”
