Selena Gomez has reportedly approached Kris Jenner about making a reality show together.
Kris is the matriarch of the Kardashian clan, who have made their names known worldwide thanks to their programme Keeping Up with the Kardashians. She masterminds the careers of her children, including Kim, Kourtney and Khloé, and now Selena is said to be considering following their lead.
"Selena is tired of being seen as Justin Bieber's lovesick ex so she's hatched a plan to do her own reality show," a source claimed to the American edition of OK! magazine.
At the moment the exact details of the plan are unknown, so it could focus on any of Selena's professional endeavours, such as her singing and acting, or be more about her personal life.
The 22-year-old star reportedly wants Kris to act as executive producer, just as she does on her family's series. And although it would technically be a competitor, the 59-year-old star is said to be entirely enthusiastic about the plan.
"She's serious when she tells Selena that her show will cause the Kardashians’ own ratings to dip!” the insider laughed.
Kris and Selena are known to be friends, with Kris tweeting a picture of them on the same flight from Paris to America late last year. The younger star is also said to have turned to Kris following the Met Gala earlier this year, as she found it hard being at the same event as her ex-boyfriend Justin.
"Kris gave her a pep talk. She told her to be strong and hold her head up high. She told her she believes in her,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com. “Selena’s grateful that Kris acknowledged how difficult the night was, but it made her get very emotional because it brought up all the hurt feelings.”
There were reports that Vanessa Hudgens helped Selena steer clear of Justin at the annual fashion party, and she has now confirmed them. Vanessa didn't think twice about ensuring there were no awkward moments during the night.
"She’s one of my best friends, and you just want to have your girlfriend’s back, so that’s what I did," Vanessa said on TV show Watch What Happens Live yesterday. "We didn’t like try to avoid him or anything, but I mean, no one really wants to see your ex-boyfriend."
