2015 has proved to be quite a busy year so far for Stefan Galea's musical endeavors. Having launched his new single and debut music video, for the song Escape written and produced by Carlo Gerada & Matt 'Muxu' Mercieca last February. The single charted at number 8 on Malta's top 10 on 89.7 Bay, whilst opening up further opportunities for Stefan to play various gigs and TV performances with his guitarist Kurt Aquilina. Currently he is competing with the same song as a finalist in the Malta Summer Hit Song Contest 2015.
Recently he has teamed up with Cyprian Cassar from the international DJ duo from the DJ Mag Top 100, known as Tenishia. He is working on new projects with Cyprian, with his latest being a take on the iconic song "Say Something" originally performed by A Great Big World featuring Christina Aguilera. Thus a music video was also produced in order to showcase a different style and genre which listeners of Stefan's music are not normally accustomed to listen to, since in the past years Stefan's focus has always been on the pop and dance genre. In a comment by Stefan, he states that his rendition of the song will set out to show a more versatile artist whilst exploring new genres of music in order to show more his vocal ability and potential in terms of range, feeling and timber to the general public.
Stefan is currently mentored by Gillian Attard, and is also studying the SLS vocal techniques under the wing of Christine Gauci at La Voix Academy. He is also furthering his studies in Rock & Pop with Trinity College of Music London, gaining a Distinction in his last music examination, and hence leading to a performance at the annual trinity college concert. Stefan is currently aiming for the 2016 Malta Eurovision Song Contest, an event which has always been one of Stefan's dreams, having made it to the first phase of the contest in 2013 & 2015, yet failing to qualify with the final 20 entries, now hoping that it will be a third time lucky for him.
