T.I. has denied he ghostwrites for Iggy Azalea.

There were rumours the rapper thinks up lyrics for the Australian musician after Nicki Minaj seemed to allude to the fact during last month's BET Awards.

However, T.I. has now brushed these off and claims Iggy, 24, is too clever to need him.

“Iggy got her own ideas and thoughts that she presents to the world her own way. I couldn’t write a lot of the sh*t she say, you know?" he explained to Bijou Star.

"I couldn’t put her thoughts into words as articulate as she does. You know what I’m saying? She just has a different way of presenting herself and her art."

During her acceptance speech at the BETs, Nicki emphasised that she writes all her own lyrics. However, she denied the comment was directed at Iggy in a tweet afterwards.

T.I. admits all musicians get some kind of help when producing songs, but says it's completely normal.

"So, I mean - now don’t get me wrong, everybody in the studio helps with hooks and certain things like that. That goes for me and any of the other top five rappers, performers…You want the best ideas," he said.

Iggy has nothing to worry about at the moment. Her track Fancy topped charts worldwide, as did her collaboration with Ariana Grande, Problem.

Recently her boyfriend Nick Young claimed any grief given to the blonde star was rooted in jealousy.

“Iggy is doing big things and that is what is scaring people,” the basketball player told New York Daily News' Confidenti@l column.

“She is going to brush it off. She won’t let it get to her. She is number one - what can you do? She’s at the top right now, so of course they are going to come at you.”
