Vincenzo Cantiello from Italy, the proud winner of Junior Eurovision 2014, has given his first interview. He said he hadn’t expected to win, that it had been a fantastic experience and he thanked everybody from the heart. He dedicated his song to all the women.

He was asked if his teacher would now give him a week off homework. Vincenzo replied “maybe a month.”

The team behind the winner say they will decide if they wish to host next year’s Junior Eurovision in Italy.

There was widespread praise for the PBS production of this year’s show with journalists saying they would love to return to Malta.
