Christina Aguilera's daughter always wants to be with the action.

The 34-year-old singer and her fiancé Matt Rutler welcomed their little girl Summer Rain into the world in August last year. The tot has been relaxed since birth, with Christina saying that having the baby laid on her skin just after she entered the world was "pure bliss".

The couple feel very lucky to have such a calm daughter, as she is more interested in checking out her surroundings than grizzling.

"Summer is a pretty zen baby," the star explained to British magazine Hello! "She's extremely alert and present since birth, but calm, steady and solid in her spirit. She loves people and really takes you in, when meeting someone new. She laughs a ton and is easy to make smile. She just seems happy to be alive. She just wants to be where the action is."

Christina is also mother to seven-year-old son Max with her ex-husband Jordan Bratman. The family recently moved into a new home and the singer was initially worried that it might take Summer Rain a long time to settle, but she actually seemed to get excited by the change. The star has noticed her daughter likes going on trips and travelling, so expects her to be adventurous when she grows up.

The baby's name attracted a lot of attention when it was revealed, with Christina more than happy to discuss why it was picked.

"Summer is a time of spreading warmth and light. While rain washes away, replenishes and brings new life to allow growth and new beginnings. I've always loved a good summer rain. And I love the visual and feeling it gives me. I wanted her name to be filled with inspiration, love and joy. And that's exactly what she brings to all who encounter her. Her beauty and sunshine exuding from within," she gushed.
