Steve Perry has said not to count on a Journey reunion. He told the Associated Press "It's like any emotional, committed relationship. At some point, they seem to all have a shelf life and bands are no exception. Life has moved us all on in different places in our lives. They're doing what they're doing - they have been since '98. And I've been doing what I'm doing, which is living my life and having a personal life."
Geddy Lee of Rush has told Rolling Stone that the group's new album should hit the shelves in early 2012.
"We’re almost finished writing. We wound the machine back up about three weeks ago. After a sluggish start, we’ve had a very fruitful couple of weeks in terms of writing. I’m very pleased with the direction that the material has taken. And I think we have one or two more songs that we’d like to write, and then we'll start recording in earnest.
"Hopefully we’ll have all of the recording done before Christmas. Then we’ll mix it sometime in the next year, and then get it out."
Motley Crue's Vince Neil will plead guilty to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge to settle the case where he poked his ex-girlfriend in Las Vegas last March.
Neil will pay a $1,000 fine but avoids a trial that could result in a greater sentence as he could have been charged with domestic violence.
Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban, three of Nashville's best guitarists, will pay tribute to Glen Campbell at the CMA Awards next week.
James Brown's former manager has been sentenced to three years of home confinement after being found guilty of breach of trust. David Cannon was under contract with Brown for 5% of the singer's earnings but was, in fact, taking closer to 15%.
Ricky Skaggs took two trophies at Friday night's 17th Annual Inspirations Country Music Awards in Nashville, winning Entertainer of the Year and Musician.
Skaggs said during his acceptance of the entertainer award "I always try to entertain folks with good clean fun and stories from my youth. I always try to bring the gospel message of hope in Jesus Christ to our shows as well. I think now more than ever, people all over the country need hope. I'm very thankful to have won this award. I certainly look up to all of the people in this category. They are taking the gospel out to the folks who really need to hear it. Thanks again so much. It means a lot to me."
