Creation Records founder Alan McGee has made £19,000 (around $AUD30,000) at auction from his sale of a tooth of John Lennon’s.

McGee, who told the Australian music industry at the BigSound conference that he was over the music biz, has the tooth in his music memorabilia collection.

The tooth belonged to Lennon’s former house-keeper Dot Jarlett. He gave it to her to throw away but them suggested she should keep it because it might be valuable one day.

The tooth was purchased by a Canadian dentist.

McGee also sold a suit worn by Lennon in the movie ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ as well as items from the band he discovered, Oasis.
