Keane will release their brand new single 'Sovereign Light Café' on 16th July through Island Records.

Keane's new album 'Strangeland' remains at number 1 in the UK album chart for a second week this week - their fifth consecutive number one album, equalling Coldplay and Radiohead, and beaten only by The Beatles.

'Strangeland' has debuted in the top ten in twenty countries around the world. It is Keane's fourth studio album, after 'Hopes & Fears' (2004); 'Under The Iron Sea' (2006); 'Perfect Symmetry' (2008) and the 'Night Train' EP (2010), which also topped the UK Album Chart.

'Sovereign Light Café' was the first song that Tim wrote for 'Strangeland' - the idea came to him in a taxi in Sao Paulo. The title name checks the seafront café in Bexhill where, as teenagers cycling from nearby Battle, he and Keane drummer Richard Hughes would “spend hours sunbathing underneath cloudy skies.”

The 'Sovereign Light Cafe' video was filmed in Bexhill and features locals who create a portrait of a much love seaside town and joyful celebration of English life. The video will be premiered on VEVO on 30th May.

Keane are now set to continue their world tour with a string of sell out UK dates in May and June, before heading to North America and Europe, and returning to the UK for T In The Park and V Festival later in the summer.
