Roger Waters’ lengthy tour of The Wall has come to an end before an amazing crowd of 75,000 on Saturday night in Quebec City.

The final venue for The Wall was Quebec City’s The Plains of Abraham. The Wall was the highest grossing tour from 2010 and is the same, so far, in 2012.

The Pink Floyd album The Wall is one of the biggest selling albums of all-time. The 1979 classic has sold more than 23 million to date in the USA alone. Pink Floyd first performed the album 28 times in 1980. In 1982, it as adapted into a movie starring Bob Geldof.

In 2010 Roger Waters took the album on the road once again and performed the show 160 times in 27 countries. Waters wanted to tour The Wall again to take advantage of today’s technology. “40 years ago, we couldn’t have filled the space in a way that would have been emotionally, musically and theatrically satisfying. Technology has changed. Now we can,” says Waters.

The show in Quebec City on Saturday featured an 800 foot wall, the largest staged since Waters performed the concert for the fall of the Berlin Wall 22 years ago.
