Paul McCartney concluded the Olympics Opening Ceremony with two songs from The Beatles, ‘The End’ and ‘Hey Jude’.

Sir Paul managed to get through the entire performance without anyone pulling the plug.

“And in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make” became a message to the world by the 70-year old superstar. The world then got to sing-a-long to his Beatles hit ‘Hey Jude’ with Paul dividing the chant between the males and females in the audience.

The four hour opening ceremony included appearances from the Arctic Monkeys and Dizzee Rascal and a music setlist of British music highlights put together by filmmaker Danny Boyle.

A soundtrack from the ceremony is planned for release on August 12.
