Rush and Alanis Morissette get Guitar Center's RockWalk nod

Not too far from that other famous walks of stars in Los Angeles is the RockWalk, at the original Guitar Center location on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. The RockWalk was first established in 1985 and, unlike other such awards, the new inductees are elected solely by the decision of past inductees.

This year, the inductees will be two artists from Canada, the legendary rock band Rush and singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette and Grammy-winning Latin rockers Mana. Each will have their own ceremony, which is by invitation only, where there will be speeches and the hand prints of each honoree will be placed in cement.

Rush, Morissette and Mana join such luminaries as Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton, George Martin, Jimmy Page, Van Halen, AC/DC, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, B.B. King and many others.

The dates for the inductions:

August 21 - Alanis Morissette
September 17 - Mana
November 20 - Rush
