From the name of the band I was already intrigued to see what I was in store with 'Sound of Shambala'. Shambhala - a Sanskrit word meaning “place of peace” or “place of silence”this album delivered 13 tracks of nirvana for laid back listeners with an array of mixes from Techo to RnB.

From the first track "Sound Of Shambala," released at the end of March 2015, it is the second album from Chateau Marmont, it has tracks designed for the dance floor. Described as 'a hub' which takes us to the utopia that is the Shambala, whose doors are open to those who have treated their karma well. To be honest it was easy listening to this album and is something to soothe the soul while working.

The first track sets up the mood Nothing to Hold Back feat. Steffaloo famed for her folk, acoustic, dream folk and electronicon vocals making me reminisce of 90's dance tunesfeatured in the track In Love too. Feeling a transition from meeting your first crush to meeting heart-ship in track two Don't Cry feat. Bent Van Looy. More beats infused with soulful vocals to give you solace.

A mixture of Eastern beats with synthesized tunes progressing through the album, when the tracks City of Giants, Out Of Time and Paris La Nuit feat. Alex Gopher I really felt like I was listening to a young Daft Punk. This Album has a lot to brag about including the featured artists.

Suddenly you hit A.T.T.Y.S feat. twinsmatic and you had a injection of R&B. The album is very varied. Great for work outs at the gym especially yoga and pilates, you really feel immersed in the melodies.

Music Is My Land feat. Rouge Mary quickens the tempo enough to get you back in the mood for tapping your feet, the deep vocals really resounding within the dubstep beat. It changes when Somebody Else feat. Stella La Page doubt flies and a whole lot more synthesized vocals and slow beats.

The journey Sound of Shambala takes us on is an unwinding road of long and carefully thought out tracks mapping the emotions of first love to doubt and sadness. Towards the end everything is uplifted once more in the slow and relaxing beats of Chateau Marmont.
