It's been a manic week for Kristina Maria when Music News finally catches up with the young Canadian at a London hotel. Sadly the wretched M25 has meant that we are chatting to the singer over a slightly dodgy mobile phone and not face to face.

"I'm sorry I couldn't get there" MN grovels. "So you should be" she cheekily replies. Of course there's a smile in her voice, but you are aware straight away that this is a determined and confident lady.

Kristina Maria broke onto the pop scene in 2010 and whose debut single, Let's Play, achieved Number One in Canada. Her success is no surprise though - given the pedigree of the team behind her. She is looked after by the management label founded by Vito Luprano, who is better known as a former senior player at Sony, who was key in the success story of Celine Dion.

Here Kristina chats about that comparison and plans for her pop career.

She was in the country to promote the single You Don't Have The Right To Cry, which is released in the UK this week.
