DJ sets were on the menu in Dalston with 4 acts performing before the headliners Strangers took to the stage in what was a double celebration. Just Off Pop (label) were hosting their launch party whilst Strangers were performing ahead of the release of their new single ‘Something new’.

Strangers’ set was just shy of an hour, were led by a passionate performance from lead singer David Maddox-Jones. Not to take anything away from the other members of the band, who were themselves brilliant in tandem. The strobe lighting may have blinded the crowd but this added to the evening with the modest audience allowed to enjoy the performance solely through their ears!

The highlight of the evening came from the final 2 songs with the London band somehow raising the level of their performance. Firstly it was Safe/Pain which is wrapped with emotion, clearly heard through the vocals and the intensity of the sound. This was the perfect stepping stone on to the liveliest track of the night and new single ‘Something new’. This hailed the biggest cheer and was performed masterfully, sounding even better live than it did on Soundcloud…..if that was at all possible!

For all those who were lucky enough to attend, you and I were certainly treated to some quality music…..
