How important is music to you: Music is another important way in which I express feelings and opinions. It allows me to communicate effectively and artistically. Often, it offers exciting moments, relaxation and it is a way to live a more colorful life.

Something curious/funny: Once (some 20 years ago) I was performing on stage with my band and I started introducing an Eric Clapton song. I was very confident: "Ladies and gentlemen, we will now perform a very popular song by Eric Clapton...you all know it...." That was it. I froze. I had forgotten the name of the song. I turned round, facing my band mates, hoping that they would remind me the name of the song. But they were clueless. And so was the entire audience, still staring at me from their seats...eager to know what was the name of the song. It was "Wonderful Tonight"...but I didn't remember the name till much later!

I would choose to duet with Rita Pace.

A typical weekday: I work shifts so when I'm working I wake up at 6am, start work at 7am and return back home at 7pm. When I'm not working, I stay in bed a little longer, but once I'm up and around I always find chores to do. At night I snuggle in front of the fireplace with my wife and watch a film or a football match.

At home mostly...with my family. My children return from a week in Malta and I love to spend time with them during the weekend. I also love to cook and play the guitar.

I have no idea who will win this year. I haven't heard the songs yet.

I agree that Ghanja tal-Poplu Winners are sent to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest. This puts the Maltese song, singer and songwriter on an international level.

Musical influences: My late uncle...John. He introduced me to music for the first time when I was young.

Your inspiration in life: The lifestyle, people, characters, social events and whatever surrounds me.

A message to the readers: We should be more appreciative of Maltese artists and their music sung in Maltese. L-Ghanja tal-Poplu is the perfect platform for such artists and I wish that more people have the opportunity to get immersed in the social themes of the songs, the unique melodies and the friendly atmosphere that the Maltese song can create.
