Wolf Alice yesterday released their long-awaited and feverishly anticipated debut album at HMV London with a free in store show and signing.
Release through Dirty Hit Records the album is a fine statement of intent.
Produced by Mike Crossey, My Love is Cool, is a masterful, explorative proclamation of Wolf Alice's multiple characters. From the enormous riffs of 'Giant Peach' to the muffled, urgent melodies of 'Lisbon' and hip-hop rhythms of ‘Silk', this is a record that deals in equal parts gigantic, screeching guitars and wistful, wilting beauty.
It is a timeless collection of songs that outweighs any preconceived notions of what Wolf Alice are, or can be. It is here that the ambitions of Ellie Rowsell, Theo Ellis, Joff Oddie and Joel Amey are fully realised in stunning widescreen.
