Tony Christie has given some of his best known and most loved songs the Nashville treatment! ‘A New Life’ will be released on 28 March and he has re-recorded and re-imagined songs including ‘(Is This The Way To) Amarillo’ (listen now), ‘I Did What I Did For Maria’ and ‘Avenues & Alleyways’ amongst others to give them a new, never before heard country sound.

This album follows the release of his 2024 album ‘We Still Shine’ - his first new album in 12 years. This album was Tony going back to his first musical love - country. Having recorded sporadically in Nashville throughout his career he took the opportunity to embrace that love and do a full recording session there. The album was met with critical and fan acclaim with incredible crowd reactions from his live shows in 2024, so he felt it was time to give some of his best loved songs that same treatment.

Recorded at the Blackbird Studios and backed by some of the best musicians Nashville had to offer, this new album will feature brand-new versions of some of his hits, including ‘(Is This The Way To) Amarillo’, ‘I Did What I Did For Maria’, ‘Avenues & Alleyways’ and many more.

Tony Christie - “We set out to completely restructure and rearrange what are essentially great songs to begin with. We gave the musicians free rein to have fun and come up with something fresh. Some of the songs have been completely turned on their heads. I hope you enjoy listening to this album as much as we did recording it.”

It will be released on CD and digitally with brand new artwork by Gillian Martin which captures a wonderful illustration of Tony adorned by his beloved Sheffield sky line.

Alike ‘We Still Shine’, this album was produced and mixed by long time collaborator and Ivor Novello Award winner Graeme Pleeth (Sonique, Wang Chung, 10CC, Brian May, Billy Ocean, Mike Oldfield, Ednita Nazario, Rosario Flores), with mastering contribution from Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.
