Following hot on the heels of the release of their EP 'Allow It' (of which the track is a part of), the high-powered visuals cut between live rehearsals and scenes reflecting the single’s lyrics about escaping the trappings of a small town.

The full EP is a concise yet punchy body of work from the Essex outfit who have had quite an interesting 2021 so far. Comprising of six songs, they predominantly blend rapturous pop punk with engaging rap, in a frenetic and frenzied display. 'Brand New Day' sites perfectly next cuts like 'Bad News', 'Billy Big Bollocks' and 'I Got Knocked Out The Same Night England Did'.

Speaking about the EP, singer Sol Abrahams says, "'Allow It' is just real. It’s songs I’ve written about things that have happened to me or the way I feel or whatever. I try and capture the moment of whatever it is I’m talking about in the lyrics so whoever’s listening can relate to it and envision it. This is why I’m well into rap as well as the band music, there’s something effective about saying things literally and telling your own story and your own truth, no fancy sentences leaving you rubbing your chin wondering what I’m going on about, just straight forward tunes about real shit."

Following a riotous return to the stage earlier this summer with two sold out nights at local skate shop and venue Hot Box in Chelmsford, Bilk also performed at Crystal Palace Bowl in front of 8,500 people supporting Louis Tomlinson in August after being personally selected by the pop juggernaut himself, with the singer declaring the trio as one of his favourite new bands.

Bilk have already earned an impressive live reputation themselves after recently being recognised by Clash Magazine who tipped the band as 1 of 6 "must see" acts from over 400 names on The Great Escape festival line up this year. With dates already selling out around the UK for their full UK tour this December, 6 new dates are revealed for early 2022 all around the east of England. Tickets are available below.

Bilk's 'Allow It' EP is out now via Scruff of the Neck Records.
