Olivia Rodrigo thanked her fans for "forever" changing her life on the first anniversary of the release of her record-breaking debut album, 'SOUR'.

Released on May 21, 2021, the 'Good 4 U' hitmaker's LP broke a world record for the biggest opening week for an album by a female artist in Spotify history.

And looking back on a whirlwind year, the 19-year-old pop megastar admitted she is eternally "grateful" to those who made it possible.

She wrote on Instagram: "my first album SOUR came out a year ago today. it is impossible for me to sum up in words how much this album means to me and how grateful I am to have gotten the privilege to make it and watch it exist in the world. thank u @dan_nigro for making it with me and believing in me more than anyone. and thank u to everyone who has embraced my 17 year old lamentations and forever changed my life in the process. (sic)"

The 'Deja Vu' singer recently admitted she has "grown so much" since releasing 'SOUR'.

Olivia feels like she's become a much more confident person because of everything she's experienced over the last 12 months.

She shared: "The process of making 'SOUR', and putting it out in the world really challenged me, and I've grown so much, and I've learned so much more about myself.

"I definitely feel like I am a more confident person today because of it."

Olivia still considers herself to be a "hopeless romantic".

But the chart-topping star admits to being a different person now compared to when she wrote her first record.

She explained: "I felt definitely differently about love when I wrote 'SOUR' versus now. I think when you're going through a heartbreak like that, you can get really disillusioned with the concepts of relationships.

"But now I'm at a place where I'm so happy that I went through all of that, and have so much love for all of these people that I've been in relationships with. And so nice that I got to write songs to help me get through it."
