Selena Gomez has confirmed she is working on a new album and is open to a tour.

During an episode of Deadline's Crew Call podcast, the Lose You To Love Me singer revealed she is currently in Los Angeles to work on an LP.

"I am in L.A. working on my album now," she said, though she did not share additional details about her upcoming album's release.

Selena's new album would follow up her 2020 record Rare - which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart - and her 2021 Spanish-language EP Revelación.

On promoting the album, Selena noted, "I'm open to a tour, one thousand per cent, but I obviously have obligations and things I wanna do, so when the time's right... It's not the top of my priority list."

Selena currently plays Mabel in TV sitcom Only Murders In The Building, starring alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short.

When asked about the possibility of a musical episode in the show, she replied, "Steve and I are hesitant because I wanna be careful. I love Mabel, and I love that she is an extension of me, so sometimes my worry is that it might turn into a pop-star thing, and that's clearly not Mabel... (But) I'm not opposed (to it)."

The second season of Only Murders In The Building premieres on Hulu in the U.S. on 28 June.
