Dolly Parton and Hayley Williams have gushed over "modern day rock chick" Miley Cyrus.
During a conversation feature for Consequence ahead of the release of Dolly's upcoming album Rockstar, the duo expressed their admiration for Miley.
"Yours and Miley's voices are perfect together," the Paramore front-woman told Dolly, who recently collaborated with Miley on a new version of Wrecking Ball for her forthcoming album. "You on this song, it feels like a song that you could have written."
"Well, I wish I had written that song," Dolly replied. "Miley, I'm crazy about. I don't think people even know how talented she is."
Hayley, 34, agreed, stating, "I think what, unfortunately, people do is really underestimate based on presentation or based on the fact that she came from Disney. And she's already proven that she's got the chops: She's a great singer, a writer."
"Actress. Comedian," Dolly added.
"Her comedic timing I think is unbelievable. She's a great writer and that voice..." the Jolene hitmaker gushed. "I think she's the new, modern day rock chick. That thing that's got the grit and the soul and the sex appeal. She's got that voice when she can go down in that bourbon and cigarette voice, but she can also sing a song so delicate. I mean, she's just got everything she needs."
Dolly, 77, added of her goddaughter, "I just love Miley. I guess you can tell."
Dolly and the Flowers hitmaker, 30, have worked together on several occasions, including Miley's Disney Channel TV series Hannah Montana. Dolly appeared in multiple episodes, appearing as Aunt Dolly, Miley's on-screen godmother.
Rockstar, a 30-track compilation of new songs and covers, will feature 40 guest artists including rock legends Elton John, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks and Sting, among others. The album is set for release on 17 November.
